What to Expect from Posh's New Signings

Peterborough United manager Luke Williams has given fans a sense of what they can expect from the club's new signings, including young wingers Ethan Williams and Vernon Masara. The two players have been signed in time to play at Bradford and are in contention for the match.

Williams spoke to the media on Thursday following the arrivals of Williams and Masara but prior to the arrival of midfielder Liam Kelly. He told fans that they can expect both to be 'exciting,' 'attacking' and creative players.

Ethan Williams

"I'm really pleased, he trained today. He's going to be an attacking threat, he's an exciting player. He'll bring lots of creativity and energy. Him having gone away with Manchester United on their pre-season tour is perfect for us and obviously he has great pedigree coming from one of the biggest clubs in the world. We are pleased to get the deal done. We think he's a top player in the making. He's had a good pre-season and he's ready."

Vernon Masara

"He's another really exciting attacking player that can take players on and is a creator. He trained yesterday and today so he will have had nearly a full week to got to know us and for us to get to know him. That's perfect for us. He can play anywhere across the top of the pitch and wants to be direct and attack. He can take the ball and is not frightened to run at people. That's a great tool for us to have in the squad.

Why a Move for Abdoullah Ba Did Not Happen

One deal that Posh came close to completing was for Sunderland winger Abdoullah Ba. A deal was agreed between the clubs but later fell through. Both sides have since claimed they walked away from the deal.

Williams said: "The most crucial thing, that I've said before is that deals are only good deals if everybody is on the same page and everyone is happy. If not then there will always be resentment. We've all walked into contracts where afterwards we felt as it we shouldn't have taken the deal. That leaves a bad taste and you never enjoy the product as much and this is the same situation.
