Peterborough United manager Luke Williams said supporter anxiety can be a sign of good intentions after the club’s 2-1 League One victory over Mansfield Town on Saturday. The win came at the Weston Homes Stadium and was described by Williams as a game that “played the way we want to play for our fans”. He praised the team for “running for each other, competing for each other and taking control of the football” and for bouncing back after conceding early.
Looking ahead to Watford
Williams confirmed that the club has no extra injury problems ahead of the Carabao Cup second-round tie with Championship side Watford. The match is scheduled for Tuesday at 7.45pm. He added that the squad is free of “battle wounds and soreness” and that the virus that had sidelined Collin Andeng Ndi and Owura Edwards has now cleared the team.

Apart from the virus-related absences, Williams said the team is fit for the upcoming game. He noted that the anxiety from the fanbase is “so keen for us to do well” and that the club must stay clear-minded, not getting “too up or too down”. The manager expressed confidence that the players will support each other and that the club will continue to perform well for both themselves and their supporters.
