Peterborough United have confirmed the loan departures of George Nevett and David Kamara to Tranmere Rovers, with forward Klaidi Lolos also leaving the club. The moves see the trio head to League Two for the remainder of the season as Posh look to secure regular playing time for squad members. The club currently sits 18th in League One with three points from three games, having scored just twice while conceding seven.
Centre-back George Nevett is the most experienced of the departing trio. He joined Peterborough from Rochdale in June 2024 and has since made 45 first-team appearances. This season, he started in both of Posh's wins, a League One victory over Mansfield Town and a Carabao Cup success against Watford. Forward David Kamara arrived from Welling in January 2024 and has played 13 times for the club. He started four league games last season and notably converted two penalties in a 5-0 win over Rotherham United. Klaidi Lolos, who was on the transfer list, completes the outgoing group.
Nevett and Kamara will spend the campaign with Tranmere Rovers. The Wirral-based club is currently eighth in League Two and unbeaten after their opening three matches, a positive start after a disappointing 2025-26 campaign. Lolos has joined Rotherham United, also of League Two, on a similar season-long loan arrangement. These moves provide the players with an opportunity for consistent minutes in the fourth tier, which should aid their development.
The loan exits come as Darren Ferguson's side seeks to find momentum in the early phase of the season. With a record of one win and two losses, the team is four points behind early leaders Blackpool. Defensive solidity will be a focus, given the -5 goal difference from the opening fixtures. Managing the squad's depth is always important, and these loans allow other players to step up. The full schedule, including the key next match, is available on our fixtures page.
Attention now turns to an immediate test at London Road. Peterborough United's next fixture is a home match against Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday, September 5th. The Owls are currently fourth in the table, presenting a significant challenge for Ferguson's men as they look to climb the standings. Securing a positive result against a promotion rival would provide a timely boost. The loan deals for Nevett, Kamara, and Lolos are all set to run until the end of the 2026-27 season.
