Seventeen-year-old Oliver Arber has signed his first professional contract with Peterborough United, committing to a two-year deal at the Weston Homes Stadium. The young defender, who has featured for the Under-21s, follows his father Mark, a Posh legend who made 192 appearances and scored nine goals for the club between 2002 and 2007.
Ryan Semple, the club's Senior PDP Lead, confirmed the signing. Semple said.
Oliver Arber expressed his gratitude for the new deal. The contract was formalised at the club's home ground this week.
The news provides a positive development for a club currently 23rd in League One, having taken just five points from their opening seven matches. Their next challenge is an away trip to face ninth-placed Stockport County on Saturday. Fans can view the full upcoming fixtures and check the current standings.
Academy Director Dan also highlighted Arber's development pathway within the club's system. The defender will now look to build on his pre-season experience and push for further involvement as Peterborough seek to improve their league position, which sees them ten points adrift of leaders Bradford City.
