Peterborough United Eye National League Striker
Peterborough United are reportedly interested in signing National League striker Danny Ormerod. The 20-year-old has impressed with 31 goals in 43 appearances for AFC Fylde, who topped the National League North with 100 points last season.
Why it matters for Peterborough United
The Posh are looking to strengthen their attack, and Ormerod's impressive goal-scoring record makes him an attractive target. With 27 league goals to his name, Ormerod has shown he can adapt to different levels of competition.
What comes next?
The transfer window is open, and Peterborough United will be looking to make a move for Ormerod. However, they face competition from other clubs, including Rotherham United, who have also shown interest in the young striker.
As reported in the Rotherham Advertiser, Millers boss Alex Bruce said: "I went to watch him play a couple of weeks ago. He was playing against Blackpool in a friendly. He's not related to Brett Ormerod. I thought he was. He's a good young player, no doubt about it. He runs in behind, he's full of energy. He's the kind of player we would like. He scored a lot of goals last season. However, I think he's going to be a fair chunk of money. I think there's a lot of clubs in for him. The last I heard, I think Peterborough will be really sniffing around him. We're certainly not the only ones who've shown a little bit of interest."
Ormerod scored 31 goals in 43 appearances in all competitions as Fylde topped the National League North with 100 points. He registered 27 league goals. He opened his account for the season on Saturday as Fylde won 2-1 away at Tamworth.
