Former Peterborough United star signs for League One rivals Huddersfield Town
Former Peterborough United midfielder Archie Collins has officially completed his move to Huddersfield Town, leaving Posh after three seasons. Collins departed Posh on a free this summer after the expiration of his contract but is yet to secure a new club with just days to go until the start of the new season.
Why it matters for Peterborough United
Collins played 159 times for Posh in three seasons following his move from Exeter City for an undisclosed fee in June 2023. He scored eight goals and will be the last regular player from the Posh side of the 2023-24 that made it into the play-offs to leave London Road.
What comes next?
In a message to Posh fans, Collins said: “I wanted to say a massive thank you to everyone at Peterborough United for welcoming me, accepting me and letting me enjoy playing football for you guys. I’m grateful for the opportunities, the experience, the people I’ve met and the memories I’ll take with me.
"I’ve really enjoyed the last three years and I’ve always felt the love and support from you guys. I wish the clubs, the lads, the fans and everyone involved all the very best for the future "Thank you for everything and hopefully our paths cross again.”
League standing (final 2025 table -- new season not yet under way): 17th in League One, 52 pts, 15W-7D-21L from 43 games, recent form DLLDL.
Peterborough United currently sit 17th in League One, 41 points behind leaders Lincoln, with 62 goals scored and 62 conceded this season. The team is currently without S. Hughes and R. Adebisi due to injury.
