New Arrival: Ethan Williams Joins Peterborough United

Peterborough United has announced a significant signing in former Manchester United winger Ethan Williams. The young player, aged 20, joins the club after spending last season on loan at Falkirk, where he made 23 appearances and scored once.

The fee for his transfer is undisclosed but described as 'sizeable,' with estimates suggesting it could be worth north of £750k, according to TalkSPORT’s Alex Crook. Ethan has also gained experience playing 17 games on loan at Cheltenham Town between January and May 2025, where he scored twice.

Manager's Perspective: A Valuable Addition

Manager Luke Williams expressed his excitement about the signing, stating that Ethan will provide another option in the wide areas. 'Ethan is a player that will give us another option in the wide areas,' said Williams. 'He is quick, direct and will be a threat. I am looking forward to working with him.'

Williams highlighted Ethan's experience gained from multiple clubs and his readiness to contribute at Peterborough United: 'He has already got first team experience at a few clubs and joins us after being away with Manchester United on their pre-season tour, so he is fit and ready to go.'

Player’s Perspective: A New Chapter

Ethan Williams himself shared his thoughts on the move. He said, 'The identity of this club is clear, they like to work with younger players and when I heard of the interest, it was a move that I wanted to make. I have been out on-loan at a couple of clubs, have gained a lot of experience of men's football and felt it was the right time to leave United and sign for Peterborough.'

Williams added, 'I have enjoyed my time at United and it’s always tough to leave a place like that, but there comes a time in your career where you have to make tough decisions to develop yourself and Peterborough is renowned for helping younger players.'
