Former Peterborough United striker Jason Lee will be the guest speaker at a senior citizen event at Weston Homes Stadium later this month. The 55-year-old, who made 87 appearances for the club, will reflect on his career and the 2000 promotion campaign.
The event will be held in the Alan Boswell Insurance Executive Suite on Wednesday, 28 October, from 12pm to 2pm. Admission is free for senior citizens, with on-site parking and light refreshments provided.
Lee initially joined Posh on loan from Chesterfield before making his move permanent after helping the club win promotion from Division Three in May 2000. He scored 19 goals during his time at London Road, including one in a 2-1 play-off semi-final win at Barnet. An injury ruled him out of the second leg and the Wembley final against Darlington.
"Lee will reflect on his playing career, his time at Posh and the devastation at missing out on the win over Darlington at Wembley in 2000," he said. The former forward, who played over 600 games in a long career, will also take questions from fans.
The event offers a chance for supporters to connect with a club legend as the current team prepares for its next League One fixture. Peterborough United, who sit 20th in the table with 8 points from 9 games, host 10th-placed Burton Albion on 17 October.
